About

Hemkund Sahib is home to the blue Primula, one of the most beautiful flowers in the Himalayan Range. From mid-July to mid-August, these flowers can be seen blooming in thousands in the valley. The high altitude serene lake, Hemkund, visited by Hindu as well as Sikh pilgrims’ lies here at 4329 meters. Surrounded by seven snow-clad peaks and their glaciers, Hathi Parvat and Saptrishi peaks feed the lake and Himganga flows out of this lake. Guru Govind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikh faith had meditated on the bank of this lake in one of his earlier births.
